Virginia Reath RPA MPH PC has been a practicing clinician, educator and activist in the fields of gynecology, sexual and reproductive health care for the past 30 years. She is also a practicing visual artist and poem maker.

Virginia studied painting and drawing at Bard College in the early 70’s. It was during this time that her commitment as a feminist brought her attention to the needs of women in the area of reproductive and sexual heath parity. She became a pro-choice advocate and activist and was inspired to enroll in the pre-med program at NYU.
Subsequently she completed The Physician Associate Program at Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1978. Her interest in women and girl’s sexual and reproductive access to health care and education inspired her to pursue a double masters in both Public Health and Community Health Education from Hunter College in 1983.
Starting in the 70s and carrying on into the present, Virginia has been active in creating access to reproductive and sexual health care and has conducted numerous workshops on reproductive justice, abortion access, sexuality and health for girls and women throughout the NYC area.

From 1995-1999 she co-hosted “SNATCHES" a cult favorite women's health talk radio show on the public radio station WBAI. She was the recipient of The ACLU Reproductive Rights Project Award for her work and activism in women's sexual reproductive heath & justice in 2000.

Virginia created and produced "Changing Bodies" a workshop on menstruation for The Girls Project, an after school program for girls 10-12 yr olds, in the Lower East Side for 10 years. In 2003 she was selected for Eileen Fisher's campaign "Women Who Change the World Everyday,” for her work with The Girls Project. Virginia was awarded "The Pink Award" by The Girls Project in 2005.

During her 40 years of practice, she has developed a speciality in integrative gynecological health where she addresses the specific needs of her patients during transitions of hormones and sexuality. This is the focus of her current consulting and counseling practice.
